Acupuncture can be used to treat a very broad range of illnesses and complaints. It's safe, versatile and gentle methods are a very good choice for natural health care.

In 2003 The World Health Organisation (WHO) published a landmark study titled "Acupuncture: Review and Analysis of Reports on Controlled Clinical Trials".

Types of therapy used

With a range of skills and tools at her fingertips we are able to combine a diverse array of therapies. Acupuncture is by far our most popular, effective and commonly utilised therapy, though we often combine this with one or two of the techniques listed below. It is the combination of these that makes our treatments so enjoyable and, most importantly, very effective. Here is a brief description of each of these:

Acupuncture

Very fine single use sterile needles. Minimum pain. We practice a very gentle style of acupuncture. Japanese acupuncture techniques are powerfully effective without causing major discomfort.

Chinese Herbal Medicine

Herbs come in various formats to suit you - granules, pills or capsules. We prefer not to use animal products, however, some serious cases may require using animal products. You will always be informed if these are needed. We NEVER uses products which may harm or endanger a species be it plant or animal.

Moxibustion

A warming therapy using a special form of a Chinese herb which has a gentle yet penetrating warming effect. This is often combined with acupuncture to increase the effect of the treatment. We prefer to use smokeless moxa unless in a very well ventilated environment.

Cupping

A technique used to regulate blood circulation and increase metabolism of dead waste in the cells. Specially designed glass cups are used to create a suction over a specific area. The results are fast and powerful. Great for longstanding injuries, pain and poor circulation. Invaluable for back and shoulder problems and for muscle tightness and pain.

Gua Sha

Similar in effect to cupping but is more versatile to access different regions of the body. Regulates blood circulation and encourages healing.

Massage

Renowned throughout many cultures for it's healing and relaxing abilities. Excellent for joint and muscular problems.  Massage is incorporated into our treatments regularly. Massage combines magnificently with acupuncture, cupping and gua sha.

Diet Therapy

Essential in restoring health in the long term. Food as medicine is powerful. Learn what sort of foods are good for your constitution. Be reconnected with what your body wants and needs. With a vast knowledge of food, Chinese food therapy, special diets and Western nutrition we can assist you in creating dietary adjustments to benefit your health.
